Objective Assessment of Surgical Competence in a Septoplasty Model
Surgical skill affects patient outcomes. Surgeons must be skillful and competent to provide safe and effective care. Technology for objective computer-aided evaluation of technical skill and competency (OCASE-T) is critical to train competent surgeons. Our NIH funded study aims to provide education with an integrated objective skills assessment platform and tools for objective determination of competency, which can be readily deployed across graduate surgical training programs across the country.
