Jie Gao is a Malone Postdoctoral Fellow advised by Mark Dredze, Ziang Xiao, and Chien-Ming Huang. Her research focuses on human-AI collaboration—including in investigating the various modes of collaboration and interaction between humans and large language models—and AI for social science, exploring efficient AI-assisted tools to enhance qualitative analysis.
Prior to joining the Malone Center, Gao earned her PhD in computer science from the Singapore University of Technology and Design in 2024 and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology Centre. She previously obtained her bachelor’s in digital media technology from Shanghai University and her master’s in software engineering from Zhejiang University.
