T. Y. Alvin Liu, M.D. is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University. He attended Phillips Exeter Academy, Cornell University (B.A.) and Columbia University (M.D.) He received his residency and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University, and is subspecialty-trained in the medical and surgical treatment of vitreoretinal diseases. Dr. Liu’ s research interests center on the application of deep learning in various ophthalmology sub-specialties, including retina, neuro-ophthalmology and ocular oncology. He also co-leads the administrative core for the Wilmer Artificial Intelligence Research Network.
