Associate Research Professor
Swaroop Vedula is an epidemiologist and medical doctor with surgical training. His research interests overlap several disciplines, including clinical trials, different areas of surgery, epidemiology, biostatistics, and machine learning. He works on research related to measuring surgical skill and competency, technology for surgeons’ acquisition of motor and cognitive skills, methods for fair comparisons of surgical interventions to estimate treatment effectiveness, analytics for surgical processes, and robotic assistance for skill acquisition and surgical coaching.
