Mark Dredze is a professor of computer science with affiliations in the Applied Physics Lab, the Human Language Technology Center of Excellence, the Center for Language and Speech Processing, and the Center for Population Health Information Technology. He holds an appointment in Health Science Informatics in the School of Medicine and is also the interim deputy director of the university’s Data Science and AI Institute.
Dredze develops artificial intelligence systems based on natural language processing and explores applications to public health and medicine.
He earned his BS (’03) from Northwestern University; his MS (’04) from Yeshiva University; and his PhD (’09) from the University of Pennsylvania.
