2024 Symposium

ABOUT

Thank you for joining us for the 8th Annual Johns Hopkins Research Symposium on Engineering in Healthcare, “From the Research Lab to the Market: The Science of Translation in Healthcare,” at the Johns Hopkins Medical Campus in Baltimore, Maryland.

Translating knowledge and technology from the research lab to products and services in the marketplace involves a complex and lengthy process requiring cross-sector collaboration. To address the challenges and opportunities associated with this process, this year’s symposium dove into the world of translational research and technology transfer and explored innovative strategies to bridge the gap between groundbreaking research and marketing success.

University researchers, technology transfer experts, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, representatives from key government institutions and state funding authorities, and industry partners gathered together to discover how to maximize the translational success of emerging technologies at the intersection of engineering and health care.
