Healthcare is universally seen as a (perhaps the) application where AI stands to have a dramatic impact. While AI offers tremendous promise, the reality is that moving AI from the bench to the bedside – developing an algorithm, then deploying it in a real healthcare setting – requires many steps and many hands.

Malone team wins Provost’s DELTA grant for new course on AI in healthcare

Research team from the Malone Center has been awarded a DELTA grant from the JHU’s Office of the Provost to develop an online course about machine learning aimed at those working in the healthcare research field.

Muyinatu Bell receives Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award

The award will support work to develop and test a new breast tissue imaging method that can differentiate between benign fluid-filled masses and potentially malignant solid masses with the goal of greater accuracy than ultrasound techniques used in most breast clinics today.

PhD student Sergio Machaca awarded NSF Graduate Research Fellowship
In the Haptics and Medical Robotics (HAMR) Laboratory led by Jeremy Brown, Machaca is investigating how haptic feedback can improve robotic surgery training.
