Malone Center member Christopher G. Chute has been chosen to receive the Morris F. Collen Award of Excellence, the American College of Medical Informatics’ highest distinction, at the American Medical Informatics Association Annual Symposium in November. Chute is being recognized for his pioneering work in biomedical data representation, interoperability, and global data standards, which has transformed the field and demonstrated the indispensable role of informatics in advancing health and science.
Chute is the Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Health Informatics at the Johns Hopkins University, where he leads the Section of Biomedical Informatics and Data Science in the School of Medicine. He is also the chief research information officer for Johns Hopkins Medicine.
The prestigious Collen Award honors Morris F. Collen, a thought leader in the field of medical informatics, and is presented to an individual whose personal commitment and dedication to medical informatics has made a lasting impression on the field. The award is determined by ACMI’s Awards Committee.
