In collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Data Science and AI Institute, the Malone Center for Engineering in Healthcare has selected two projects in medicine and health care to receive inaugural Data Science and AI Institute Demonstration Projects Awards.
The Data Science and AI Institute Demonstration Projects funding program aims to accelerate translation of data science and artificial intelligence tools in critical applications, attract external funding and philanthropic support, and extend existing partnerships and forge new ones.
These inaugural awards will provide support for long-term, high-impact translational projects that foster collaboration among researchers, engineers, and clinicians across the institution and potentially external partners.
The projects are expected to demonstrate the significant advancements that can be achieved by integrating data science or AI within research programs that already have external funding.
The projects co-sponsored by the Malone Center include:
Increasing the Software Usability and Data Accessibility of CODA: An AI-Based Technique for Biomarker Discovery Through the Creation of Large, Cellular-Resolution 3D Maps of Tissues
