Abstract

In this work, we show that crowd (lay people) on the internet platform Amazon Mechanical Turk can assess surgical skill in functional endoscopic sinus surgery with high accuracy. Compared to previous work in this domain, our study shows that crowdsourcing can be an efficient alternative to faculty assessments even in surgical tasks that require anatomical knowledge.
